about the art

Women are the subject of my work. My style is a pastiche of provocative art whether it be dance, photography or music. I find images for inspiration in life and on the internet. Visual performances like cabarets and burlesque shows or images used for lingerie marketing and posts for the body positive movement have all influenced the subject of my paintings. My artwork has traditional themes with modern references. I aim to capture the nuances of sensuality and femininity. The goal is to create tantalizing imagery that evokes thought on the female form and her power.

In addition to the women featured in my artwork, I tie in nature elements drawing parallels between feminine energy and the natural world. Plants, earth tones, rock formations and fruit all appear in my artwork to enhance or accompany the woman in the composition. This will occasionally create a theme amongst paintings giving them a cohesive feel due to their respective natural landscapes.
